原 Windows 2000 Server 僅有一顆 CPU, 在新增CPU後, 從工作管理員效能只能看到一顆
可以更新 驅動程式方式來解決:

裝置管理員-- 電腦
ACPI Uniprocessor PC -- 內容 -- 驅動程式 -- 更新驅動程式
從清單中指定驅動程式 -- 顯示這個裝置類別的所有硬體
選擇 ACPI Multiprocessor PC

安裝完成後重開機.

error message:

switchroot: mount filed:  No such file or directory
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

1.  Boot from RHEL Installation media.
2.  F5    -->  linux rescue  
3. chroot /mnt/sysimage/

recover boot image.

1. backup boot image
    mv /boot/initrd-2.6.18-128.el5xen.img  backup_initrd-2.6.18-128.el5xen.img 
2. build new boot image
    /sibn/mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.18-128.el5xen.img 2.6.18-128.el5xen
3. exit

reboot.
